Avital Sheffer is a ceramic artist based on the North-Coast of Australia. She makes work that is both strong and intricate, mainly in large vessel forms. Her language is both intimate and universal while being firmly grounded in the contemporary. She employs a hand-forming technique and a printing practice to her work that is both anthropomorphic and architectural. Since 2004, Sheffer has had twenty-nine solo exhibitions. Her work is represented in many public and private collections and she is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics.
