Hiroshi Aoki (b. 1976, Shunan city, Yamaguchi Prefecture) had a background in Sculpture arts before he completed a ceramics course at Tajimi City Pottery Design Institute. Inspired by old objects and the accumulation of time, Aoki makes objects in pursuit of conveying the passion that went into creation. With meticulous attention to process and craft, he makes work that continuously offer new discoveries with the passage of time. His ceramics, exhibited in Japan and internationally, have been met with praise for their focus on materiality, form, and craft.
