Mami Kato is a Philadelphia based ceramist from Akita Japan. She got her bachelor of Fine Arts from Philadelphia College of the Arts after transferring from Musashino University of Arts. After graduating she moved to Tokyo but eventually returned to Philadelphia in 1992. Kato’s work has been shown in galleries, art fairs, institutions, and museums worldwide, and has work in both public and private permanent collections.
