Masahiro Miyao was born in Fukuoka, Japan (1970). When he was 25, he studied under Yuichi Yamamoto in Bizen and when he was 31, he fired his own kiln for the first time. Currently, he is based in Okayama where he has lived and worked since 1995. Miyao has since received many culture prizes for his Bizen-ware across Japan and continues to exhibit his work around the world.
