Matsumoto Haruyuki is a ceramist based in the Shiga prefecture of Japan. He was born in Tottori in 1983. In 2008, he attended the Left Ceramic Cultural Design Course at Seoul National university of Science and Technology and graduated from a ceramics course at Kyoto Seika University. In 2010, he received his Graduate degree at Kyoto Seika University. Haruyuki works in raw porcelain, both white and black which he produces by mixing iron into the white porcelain. His delicate work, with eggshell thin walls and an almost glass-like feel, are full of character and uncertainty. Since receiving his masters, his work has received wide acclaim straddling the line of roughness and delicacy.
