Motoh Kaneshige is a ceramist using Iga Yaki ware clay. The characteristics of his work and of Iga-yaki clay are expressed in the shape of the work and natural variations of the glaze. He graduated from Musashino Art University and spent some time working for a company until 2002. In 2003, Matsumoto started his ceramics career. He is based in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture with a kiln he has been firing with since he started his career in 2003. His Motto is “to create original work that cannot be imitated” and with each new set of work he produces he continues to live up to that motto.
