Rosie McLachlan is a ceramist who works with an anagama wood fire kiln. She received her Masters of Finance Arts from Newcastle University and a BA in Archaeology at University College London. The anagama kiln which McLachlan uses is a four day long devotional process. Through the transformation of heat, flame, and ash; the pieces come out of the kiln with a mythic and elemental quality. With her background in comparative mythology and cosmologies, the work McLachlan creates are relics of an unborn civilization, both alien and familiar. The work she makes can be found at galleries in the United Kingdom, France, and United States as it continues to be exhibited around the world.
