Sarah Purvey is a sculptural artist who builds engaging, large vessels that explore the meeting point between exterior perspective and interior emotion. She completed an MA in ceramics at Bath Spa University in 2009 and holds a position as Artist-in-Residence at the Corsham Court Campus in Wiltshire. She is a Project Coordinator for Chippenham Museum Modern and Contemporary Art Collection. Her work is in clay and on paper, the unifying process being drawing. Purveys process is meditative and at speed, listening and responding instinctually as she gets lost in the making. Through this practice, she creates a private language, of thought and meaning, that courses throughout her work. Her work is represented by galleries nationally and internationally and she continues to exhibit her work across the globe.
