Through vibrant and powerful works, Hilaire invites us to explore a living surrealism, where the boundary between reality and imagination blurs to reveal the mysteries and spiritualities of everyday Haitian life.

Shneider Léon Hilaire, a Haitian artist living and working in Port-au-Prince, stands out for his artistic practice deeply rooted in his cultural identity. Since his early days, Hilaire has explored themes related to spirituality, Haitian history, and mystical practices, particularly Vodou. His career has been marked by a total immersion in his environment and cultural roots, a connection he maintains with surrealism, a movement that has influenced his artistic vision. Hilaire draws on the richness of his heritage to twist artistic conventions and offer works that are much more than mere representations: they are visual meditations on resistance, survival, and transcendence.
